I saw this saying on LinkedIn this month and thought it appropriate to ministry:

Marriage is hard. Divorce is hard. Choose your hard.

Obesity is hard. Being fit is hard. Choose your hard.

Being in debt is hard. Being financially disciplined is hard. Choose your hard.

Communication is hard. Not communicating is hard. Choose your hard.

Ministry is hard. Not being in ministry is hard. Choose your hard. (My addition)

Life will never be easy. It will always be hard.

But we can choose our hard. Pick wisely.

Sometimes we think as Christians that life should be easy because we love Jesus!

Sometimes we think, “If only I was in full-time ministry it would be easier, I would have more time.” This is a fallacy. We are all in full-time ministry if we are a Christian and no, you don’t have more time when in full-time ministry.

Whatever you are going through, know that Jesus has you in the palm of His hand. He has a plan, and it is NOT supposed to be easy, but you will come out the other side if you just hang in there. Remember how diamonds are made.
