I am so sorry for missing January’s Note to Pastors.
To be honest, it has been a difficult couple of months – the move to Kansas City, Gay being back in Phoenix, the new job, reevaluating life, etc. One of the bright spots has been my friends and my brother. I will be caught up in some project or problem, then a friend calls and it is like a light gets turned on in a dark room. All the weight of the problem melts away and my heart feels warm again.
This month I want to encourage you to tend your friendships. You don’t need a lot of them, and it doesn’t necessarily need to take a lot of time…a text, an email, a phone call. Be the light in someone else’s day, listen to the Holy Spirit and bring an encouragement. Tend your friendships this month.
Lots of love,
Peter
Hello Pastor Pete! You probably don’t remember me, I was just a kid last time you saw me, my name is Bryan Baker, my dad’s name was Tom Baker, we used to go to your Church in Chico Ca, and you and your wife Gay went camping with us at wages creek! You guys have been on my mind lately and I’m so glad I found you guys, I’ve been praying for you both. You both and that church had a huge impact on my life, I wish we had the technology back then that we do now so I had videos of the worship and service’s, anyways, thank you for building up that church and for being such a great leader, I love you guys and y’all will always have a place in my heart! Maybe someday you guys will e close to Brookings Oregon and you can meet my little family!
Hi Bryan,
Thank you so much for reaching out. And thank you for the encouragement. Can you send me a picture of you and your dad? I would love to reconnect.
Yes, we will probably be coming through Oregon sometime as we help a church in Moses Lake, Washington, and have some friends up in northern Washington.
We have just moved to Toledo, OH where our daughter and her husband live, with our granddaughter. We also have a house in France and travel back and forth during the year. Chapman Ministries is just getting going as a ministry to local churches and pastors.
Anyway, looking forward to catching up soon.
Peter
